Some beauty for you, now.

So, my friend Amanda officially wore the shirt I printed for her (!) out and about. She went to a skate park, because she is a badass, and apparently got plenty of compliments. Granted, I made no profit on this trial run, but it is still a lovely little step in the right direction. (I have already gotten a request from an admirer.) I also earned a little money illustrating a zine, something I haven’t done since the glory days of doodling all throughout the day in high school.

On that note, I have been rediscovering the glories of all things crafty, creative and handmade. Small time producers who turn out products with whimsy and intelligence, and a constant eye for detail. Such as these delicate, stellar pieces of jewelry; (the artist in question, Fay Andrada, also has a wonderful blog). Some more specifics: I have been rediscovering Jenny Gordy, of Wikstenmade, who is a really wonderful source for this realm through her own inspiring blog, and, obviously, her lovely designs.

I am certainly feeling more connected to the universe and the things that are important to me than I have in a long while.

Images: Flickr favorites, both, Untitled. The beautiful patchwork is an illustration by Flora Douville, discovered very recently via Wikstenmade. Finally, Brian is in Paris! Sighs all around.
