I can only assume you care for my opinion, because you visit this space in the first place. So, here are some things I want to give a shout out to, because they give me joy.

These pants fit like a dream and are relentlessly flattering. Classic, classy, that piece of clothing people talk about— the one that makes them ‘feel sexy’. Ridiculous, but it’s true. I love these.

Cereal as it should be— that is, simple and homely and something you feel you’d make yourself. Subtly sweet, with an utmost respect for ingredients and packaging— well designed, eco-friendly— and write ups on the side of the box that are actually witty, charming and informative. Write ups you’d actually like to groggily read at the breakfast table while eating said cereal. These people are heroes to me. Because cereal should be awesome, and theirs is.

Perhaps it makes me a cultural idiot, and as such you’ll disregard my word on these matters; nevertheless, his name is news to me: Karel Martens, suddenly a face for my idea of excellent design— as featured in the most recent issue of Dwell magazine.

Knives that are indispensable to my everyday kitchen wanderings. Also, adorable.

The best falafel I’ve ever had. Everything was so well-executed; the hummus was rich in texture and humble in its earthy perfection, the pita was pillowy, wheezing warm little puffs of flour; the Israeli salad was cool and fragrant. The falafel itself was herbal and complex, and di-rectly delivered to that lovely pita— the residual hot oil burned my tongue. I’ve never had falafel so definitively fresh. My dear companion looked almost frightened when she bit into hers. (Eaten yesterday and shortly followed by a walk along the High Line, where I earned my first sunburn of the season. Huzzah!)

Good things.
